About  Faculty of Management Studies :

Faculty of Management Studies(FMS) is a public business school established in 1954 in Delhi, India. The institute affiliated with the University of Delhi initially started with a three-year Part-time postgraduate management Program in Business Administration for senior & middle-level executives in 1954. The institute is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education(AI CTE) and offers courses such as Master of Business Administration(MBA-Full full-time), MBA-Executive (Evening Program), MBA-Executive HCA (Evening Program), Management Development, and Doctoral Program. 

A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at FMS. The students are trained to face the complex business & organizational environment by organizing and involving them in lectures, case analysis, simulation games, group discussions, and practical project work which develops the conceptual, analytical, and decision-making skills of the students.

Education at FMS:

The FMS works hard for academic excellence and leadership in management education through high-quality teaching, research, case development, and innovative courses. The curriculum is designed to assess the student’s performance through a continuous system of tests, quizzes, and midterm and semester-end examinations to ensure high academic standards as well as practical orientation. The students are required to take several practical projects, and summer projects under the guidance of the senior manager of the reputed company. The student also works under the expert faculty team for the final project assignment, where the panel of expert faculties trains the student for a real business environment.

Eligibility & Admissions at Faculty of Management Studies :

The eligibility criteria and admission process for the management courses are listed below. The candidates are supposed to read and understand before applying for admission:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with an aggregate of 50% in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Candidates with a CGPA equivalent to 50% aggregate can apply.
  • The students attending the final semester exams can also apply.

Admission /Selection Process:

The admission process requires the candidates to clear the CAT exam followed by a Personal Interview. The steps involved in the admission process are:

  • The candidates have to register and appear for the CAT entrance exam.
  • The candidates can apply for the MBA program by filling out the online form using CAT Registration ID.
  • The candidates will receive an e-mail or a call to attend a Personal Interview if they are shortlisted.
  • The final selection process will be based on the overall performance of the candidates in group discussions, extempore interviews, and personal Interviews.

The campus life of the FMS institute is very attractive with modern architecture. The Classrooms are modern and spacious. The campus has academic and non-academic blocks, a library which is well-equipped, a computer lab, and many more facilities. The campus is a bright environment for the students to focus on their education with no distractions.

Hostel & Accommodation:

The FMS does provide separate hostel rooms for boys and girls of MBA full-time students in postgraduate hostels of Delhi University, with all the basic facilities needed for the students to stay. But, the institute has no hostel of its own. The students can still find accommodations in nearby private hostels and PG rooms in the locality of the campus.

Library:

The institution has a large collection of books, journals, and magazines for the students’ academic references. The library also has Wi-Fi and provides e-library features, which help the students keep up with current affairs.
