How To Access CBSE 2024 - 2025 Sample Paper And Marking Scheme
These are the following steps to access the sample paper and marking scheme
- Visit the official website cbseacademic. nic. in
- Select the skill education tab and select the option ‘ sample on paper’ which is placed on the top of the home page.
- Choose relevant classes.
- Select your skill subject from the menu.
- Download the sample paper and preview your exam format, pattern and marking scheme.
CBSE Exam Pattern And Marking Scheme
From class 9 to 12, the exam pattern remains the same for the central board of secondary examination.
- MCQ (Selective response type questions) has a 20 percent weightage.
- Competency-based questions have 50 percent weightage (MCQ, case-based or source-based type of questions).
- Constructed response questions ( long answer, short answer) have 30 percent weightage.
Marking Scheme:
The marking scheme varies for classes 10,12, and classes 9 and 11.
Class 10,12 marking scheme:
- There will be 39 questions categorised into five sections. All are compulsory.
- Section A comprises 20 questions ( MCQ): each question carries 1 mark.
- Section B comprises 6 very short questions; each question carries 2 marks.
- Section C comprises 7 questions; each carrying 3 marks .
- Section D Comprises three long questions;each carrying 5 marks.
- Section E comprises three case-based or source-based questions; each carrying 4 marks.
Class 9 and 12 marking scheme :
- There will be 33 questions, which are categorised into five sections. All are compulsory.
- Section A comprises 16 questions (MCQ), each carrying 1 mark.
- Section B comprises five very short questions each carrying 2 marks.
- Section C comprises seven short questions each carrying 3 marks.
- Section D comprises two sources or case-based questions, each carrying four marks.
- Section e comprises 3 very long questions, each carrying 5 marks.

The syllabus of classes 9 to 12 varies depending on your chosen subjects.
