SNAP EXAM PATTERN 2024

SNAP 2024 EXAM

The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is one of India's most famous management entrance exams, conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to its various postgraduate management programs. A candidate desiring to join a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offered by any Institute of SIU has to appear for the common, compulsory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) which is a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

SNAP is known for its distinctive structure, which counterbalances speed with accuracy. Unlike other management entrance exams with a longer duration and a higher number of questions, SNAP reduces its assessment to a 60-minute test with a manageable number of questions. This format requires candidates to be brisk, accurate, and strategic in their method. SNAP takes place thrice a year and allows candidates to perform their best.

Exam Pattern Of Snap 2024

The SNAP exam is known for its crisp format, with fewer questions than other management entrance exams like CAT or XAT. Candidates can expect a total of 60 questions, distributed across three sections. SNAP primarily consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), where candidates must select the correct option from four given choices. The overall difficulty of SNAP 2024 is expected to be moderate, with a balanced mix of easy, moderate, and difficult questions across all sections. The key challenge lies in managing time effectively while maintaining accuracy, especially given the negative marking for incorrect answers.

 No. of Question

Candidates can expect a total of 60 questions, distributed across three sections. The number of questions with a time duration of 60 minutes makes time management a crucial factor in acing the exam.

The section-wise distribution is as follows:

General English (Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and Verbal Ability)

 15 questions

Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency

 20 questions

Analytical & Logical Reasoning  25 questions

Type of Questions

SNAP consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), where candidates must choose from the four given choices. Each question carries equal weightage, and there are no special questions or non-MCQ questions, simplifying the approach for candidates. The questions are created in such a manner as to test the candidates' speed, accuracy, and conceptual clarity.

 Weightage

SNAP consists of a total of 60 questions with each question weighing 1 mark.

Following is a breakdown of section-wise weightage:-

This section tests mathematical aptitude and the ability to interpret data.

 It covers:

Arithmetic

Percentages, ratios, time-speed-distance, and other basic concepts.

Algebra

Equations, inequalities, and algebraic identities.

Geometry & Mensuration

Properties of shapes, areas, and volumes.

Data Interpretation

Charts, graphs, tables, and caselets.

SNAP Difficulty Level

1. Overall Difficulty

The overall difficulty of SNAP 2024 is expected to be moderate. The exam's time constraint of 60 minutes for 60 questions adds pressure, making speed and accuracy critical. While the difficulty level of individual questions might not be extreme, managing time effectively under exam conditions is a significant challenge for many.

2. Section-Wise Difficulty

  1. General English (Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and Verbal Ability):
  1. Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency:

                c)Analytical & Logical Reasoning:

3. Comparison with Other Exams

Compared to other management entrance exams like CAT or XAT, SNAP is generally perceived as less difficult when compared to question complexity. However, the time constraint and the balance between speed and accuracy make SNAP a competitive exam. It might not be as difficult as CAT but it still requires enough practice to ace the exam. Understanding the difficulty level helps in thorough preparation. Candidates should focus on:

Practice under Timed Conditions: Simulate exam conditions with timed mock tests to build speed and accuracy.

Strengthening Weak Areas: Focus on weaker sections and practice extensively to improve performance.

Balanced Preparation: Allocate study time based on the weightage and difficulty of each section to ensure a well-rounded strategy.

SNAP Pattern: How to Prepare for SNAP Exam 2024?

Effectual preparation for the SNAP exam involves a strategic approach that covers understanding the exam pattern, subjugating each section, and sharpening test-taking skills.

1. Understand the Syllabus and Exam Pattern

2. Develop a Study Plan

3. Develop Exam Strategies

4. Keep on Revising

5. Stay Calm and Confident

A well-rounded preparation strategy, coupled with self-assurance and a strategic approach, will enable candidates to tackle the SNAP 2024 exam successfully and reach their target scores.
