AILET Admission Criteria 2025
The conditions that the candidates have to fulfill for admission in various law colleges for the Undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs are listed below. The candidates must carefully understand the eligibility criteria before applying to the AILET exam.
For LLB:
- Candidate must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- Candidates appearing for the 12th examination can also apply for the exam.
For LLM:
- The candidate must have an LLB Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Candidates appearing for the final year LLB Exam can also apply.
For PhD:
- The candidates must have an LLM Degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
- The candidates appearing for the final year LLM degree exam are also eligible to apply.

AILET Eligibility and Admission Process
The Eligibility criteria that the candidates have to meet are specified in the above section of this article. The students have to carefully read the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Also, students appearing for the AILET exam have to understand the Seat intake based on the course preferred by the student and the category of the students. The Admission process of the students in various law colleges across the country will start immediately after the announcement of the AILET results.
The Candidates can download their result sheet from the AILET official website which is necessary for the admission process and have a printout of it. The candidates have to keep track of the cut-off released by the NLUs and also look into the merit list. The steps involved in the admission process are as follows:
- The NLU will release the marks and Rank secured by the student, as well as the merit list, which will give the student clarity about admission chances.
- The students who are shortlisted in the merit list have to attend the counseling process, during which they will be given the liberty to choose their preferred law programs and campuses.
- The candidate must upload documents necessary for admission, such as academic records and category certificates.
- The counseling officers allot seats to the students who have attended counseling based on their preferences.
- To officially complete the admission process, the student has to complete the document verification process and pay the admission fee for the selected program.
