IIM Cutoff by Category 2024
The IIM releases the CAT Cutoff as soon as the CAT results are out, these cutoffs vary for each category the Cutoff in IIM Ahmedabad for the General category is 80, then the Cutoff for the SC category is not the same, but it can be expected to be 70, and for that of the Students under PwD category will have to have the CAT Score 60 to be eligible to apply in IIM.
The CAT Cutoff not only varies for Category but also varies for each IIM, so the candidate has to make sure to check the cutoff released by one’s preferred IIM.

MBA Admission for Reserved Categories
Some of the commonly reserved categories in MBA Admission are:
- Schedule Caste (SC)
- Schedule Tribe (ST)
- Physical Disabled (PD)/ Person with Disability (PwD)
- Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy layer (NC-OBC)
A few MBA entrance exams have reservations for categories like Jammu & Kashmir Migrants, state-specific reservations, wards of defense personnel, etc. There are two key points that every aspirant applying under the reserved category must check before applying for any MBA exam:
- The applicant must have a valid certificate attested by the concerned authority, otherwise, the candidates will be considered General category candidates.
- Candidates must also verify before filling out the application form that it is important to check the eligibility criteria of the respective exam and individual institutes under the exam.
IIM MBA Eligibility Criteria
The students must fulfill certain eligibility criteria to be admitted to various programs such as MBA and PGDM courses in IIMS across the country. Some of the requirements that the student has to possess as IIM MBA Eligibility Criteria are:
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50 percent aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45 percent in the case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories), from any discipline awarded by a recognized university. The graduation degree can be in any stream.
- Candidate must have completed a professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) with 50 percent aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45 percent in case of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories)
- The graduation marks and percentage obtained by the candidate will be calculated based on the practice followed by the university or institution from where they received the degree.
- In case a candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to a percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the University/ Institution from where the candidate obtained their bachelor’s degree.
- In case the University/ Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the same would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by 10 and multiplying the resultant by 100
CAT 2024 PGDM Admission
Admission for the CAT 2024 PGDM in various colleges and Universities across India is based on the following process:
- The CAT exam authorities will release the results online. And the IIMs and non-IIM colleges will release the CAT cutoff on their websites.
- The Candidates will be shortlisted based on the CAT Percentile for the Group Discussion and The Personal Interview conducted by the IIMs and non-IIM colleges.
- The Final list of the selected candidates will be released based on their Performance in the WAT, GD, and PI.
- The candidate who has accepted the offer for admission will complete the document verification process and submit the necessary documents.
- The candidate can complete the admission process by paying the admission fees online or offline as per college rules.

CAT 2024 Selection Process
The Candidate has to fulfill the eligibility criteria and have to consider the CAT cut-off released by various IIMs. The candidate with the expected cut-off will be shortlisted for the WAT, GD, and PI, which is conducted on the IIM campus. The IIM prepares the Final list of the selected candidates based on their performance in the selection process.
