CLAT Revised Result 2025 Live Updates: NLU Consortium Challenges Delhi HC Order, Revised Marks and R
The Common Law Entrance Test or CLAT exam was conducted on December 3, 2024. And the results for the same were declared on December 7, 2024. But on December 20, 2024, upon the plea of a CLAT aspirant it was brought into attention that two of the questions in the entrance test paper were actually wrong and it was further decided that the results for CLAT 2025 would be revised. And therefore, the Delhi High Court, refused to intervene in an order directing the Consortium of National Law Universities to revise the result of CLAT 2025.
Therefore, CLAT 2025 results are all set to be revised following the directive from the Delhi High Court. Inorder to be completely specific, questions fourteen and hundred were highlighted as the problem, further ruled by the court that question fourteen has a mistake in its options and question hundred was invalid altogether.
Delhi HC Order
Following the ruling by the Delhi High Court, the Consortium of NLUs has further announced that they wouldn't be releasing the CLAT 2025 Final Merit List on December 26, 2024. The CLAT Allotment List was also set to be released on December 25, 2024. Consequently the whole process would be postponed now. The revised CLAT counselling dates are not yet released.
After the exam, upon analyzing the entrance question paper, many candidates had pointed out inconsistencies and therefore, a group of students filed a petition in the Delhi High Court, urging the court to intervene and take further action so that there wouldn’t be any injustice towards the candidates. NLU Consortium
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs), which is commonly referred to as CLAT Consortium, was established on August 19, 2017. This particular body is responsible for enhancing the standards of Legal education in India. The Consortium was initially started with sixteen founding NLUs and has expanded ever since.
The Consortium of National Law University is currently revising the results of C the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT) 2025, following a directive from the Delhi High Court. The revision of results will further affect many candidates’ marks and influence their ranking, which could in turn influence their chances of getting admission into the top MLUs. Delhi HC Judgement for CLAT 2025 Result
The Delhi High Court has issued a significant ruling keeping in consideration the inaccuracies of the CLAT 2025 entrance questions. Therefore, the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) are all set to revise the results due to errors identified in the exam’s marking. Some of the key aspects of this judgement are provided below:
- In a detailed twenty nine page judgement, Justice Jyoti Singh concluded that there were indeed demonstrable errors in two questions, specifically question fourteen and question hundred. Therefore, the court ruled that candidates who chose option C for question fourteen must be awarded marks and question hundred should be excluded from evaluation entirely.
- The ruling was conducted followed by a petition from a candidate who challenged the answer key, arguing that the mistakes affected his admission prospects. And therefore, the court emphasized that ignoring these errors would be unjust towards the candidates.
- This ruling will significantly benefit many students whose marks were affected by incorrect marking. The Consortium has been instructed to revise the results with care and precision, which will further impact the overall merit list and admission prospects.
CLAT Result 2025 Statistics
Some of the key statistics for CLAT Results 2025 are as follows:
- A total of 75,000 candidates registered for CLAT 2025.
- The overall percentage rate of the exam was 96%
- Among the overall percentage rate, 57% were female and 43% were male.
- The success rate for CLAT UG 2025 is 5% and for CLAT PG, its 12%
- The highest score achieved in CLAT UG 2025 was 103 marks, out of 120.
- And therefore, the expected cut-offs for top NLUs are projected to be 100-105 for General Candidates.
- The revised result may bring in some significant changes.
