AIBE 19 (XIX) Cut-off Marks 2024: Qualifying Marks, Category-wise AIBE Passing Marks

The Bar Council of India conducts an offline open book exam, named All India Bar Examination XIX, in over 50 cities with 140 centers. The exam is conducted for 3 to 3-and-a-half hours duration, and the questions are in the form of a multi-choice model. 

The exam is conducted to assess the basic level knowledge of a member and lay down a minimum benchmark for the entering into practice of law, in addition to assessing the candidate’s analytical skills. After clearing the All India Bar Examination, the candidate is awarded a certificate of practice by the Bar Council of India.

 

What is new in AIBE 19 Cut-off 2024?

The AIBE 19 cut-off will be released on the official website of the Bar Council of India, along with the result notification, candidates can visit the official website. The Bar Council of India has changed the cut-off where the candidate from the general category and OBC category has to secure 45% as the passing percentage from 40% which was in the previous years and the passing percentage of the SC/ST and Disabled Candidates is 40%, the cut-off percentage in the previous years was 37%. 

According to the percentage provided, the candidate of the General and the OBC categories has to secure a minimum passing mark of 42, and the SC/ST category and the disabled category candidates have to secure a minimum passing mark of 37. If the candidate fails to secure the mentioned cut-off, the candidate will not be permitted to practice law as their profession and has to reappear for the exam, next exam session.

 

AIBE 19 Exam Dates & Schedule

The AIBE 19 Exam is conducted by the Bar Council of India twice a year for law graduates who want to start practicing as lawyers. It is an open-book exam conducted in 50 cities with 140 centers. The important events and scheduled dates for candidates for the exam are as follows:

AIBE 2024 Expected Cutoff

The Bar Council of India announces the cut-off marks once the results are announced, and the students have to attain at least the minimum cut-off to pass the exam. The expected cut-off for the candidates of general, OBC, and SC/ST categories are as follows:

Factors Affecting AIBE 2024 Cut-Off

The AIBE cut-off will be released on the official website after the exam results, the Bar Council of India will calculate the cut-off percentage based on the factors given below:

  1. Minimum Passing Criteria: the cut-off percentage for the General category and OBC Category is 45%, whereas for the SC/ST and Disabled category is 40%.
  2. Discrepancies in the answer key: the candidates can object to the answer key when the provisional answer key is released, based on which the final answer key will be released later.
  3. Elimination of questions from the final result evaluation: when there is the elimination of questions from the question paper, the total marks will also vary, which also affects the cut-off criteria.
