Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna was established by the Chanakya National Law University Act, 2006 (Act No. 24 of 2006) and has UGC’s approval under section 2(f) and section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. The primary objective of the University is to offer multidisciplinary, research-based comprehensive legal education to young legal minds and simultaneously instill in them respect for the rule of law and values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

Eligibility for CNLU Patna
The students who desire to get admission to the law programs have to fulfill certain eligibility criteria. The details of the eligibility criteria and accepted entrance exam scores are provided below:
For UG Courses:
- The candidates must have passed 10+2 /intermediate/ its equivalent years of education with a minimum percentage of 50% and 45% in the case of reserved categories.
- In case of a tie, preference shall be given to a higher percentage of 10th marks. In case of further tie, preference shall be given to the one with a higher age.
For PG Courses:
- The candidates must have passed a UG degree in Law or its equivalent with a minimum percentage of 50% or its equivalent grade, and 45% or its equivalent grade in the case of reserved categories.
