What is NMAT?

The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NM IMS) University conducts a national-level entrance test for admission to the MBA postgraduate program. The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) conducts the computer-based NMAT exam once a year in nearly 73 cities. The exam offers the flexibility to choose dates as per convenience and improve scores with three attempts.

NMAT 2024 Admission Process

The candidates are shortlisted for the admission round at the candidate’s chosen school, the application process for NMAT accepting college includes various sections such as group discussion, personal interview, and written ability test.

 

The details of the NMAT admission rounds are as follows:

The group discussion involves speaking with a group about a chosen topic. Some NMAT-accepting colleges offer case discussions in place of group discussion, which involves a structured conversation based on a case study.

The Personal Interview involves a discussion with the admission team at the college, which involves a variety of questions such as your career goals or knowledge of current affairs.

The written ability test measures your ability to write and communicate, and it’s usually based on a chosen topic with a short time limit of up to 20 minutes.

This admission process will be organized by the college, therefore slight changes can be observed in the admission procedure of each school.

 

NMAT Registration Process 2024

 

To register for the NMAT by GMACTM exam, follow these simple steps:

  1. Start by clicking on ‘Register for NMAT by GMACTM on mba.com/nmat and create an account. Be sure to use a valid email address.
  2. Fill remaining details under ‘Manage NMAT Profile’
  3. Check your mailbox for a verification email and follow the steps it mentioned to verify your account. Be sure to check your junk or spam email folders or, if needed, click the ‘Resend Email Verification’ button shown on the mba.com/nmat page.
  4. Click the “NMAT by GMACTM Dashboard” button on the mba.com/nmat page and access the Candidate Dashboard.
  5. Complete the application form on the Candidate Dashboard. Note: Your name and date of birth must exactly match your Photo ID.
  6. Select the schools to which you would like to send your scores in the School Preferences section. Score sending to 5 schools is included in your registration fee. You can send additional score reports by paying INR 400+ applicable taxes for every school selected beyond 5.
  7. You must upload a photograph (not more than 6 months old) that bears a likeness to you and the photograph on your Photo ID. This photograph will be included on the admit card that you must show to the test center administration at the test center.
  8. Pay the exam fee

 

NMAT Exam Scheduling 2024 | NMAT Slot Booking

The steps to follow during the NMAT Exam Scheduling are as follows, the candidates have to carefully understand the procedure given and follow the instructions:

  1. On completion of registration and payment, you can schedule your exam from the Candidate Dashboard by clicking the Book Exam Slot button. Exam appointments must be scheduled at the earliest and within the dates mentioned on the NMAT website.
  2. Select the exam mode as At Test Centre and click on Submit.
  3. On the exam scheduler, click on the ‘PROCEED’ button, and read and agree with the policies.
  4. Choose the Country, City, and Test Centre, and choose the date and time when you would like to take the exam.
  5. Once you have scheduled the exam, you can download the admit card from your Candidate Dashboard 7 days before your scheduled exam date.

 

NMAT 2024 Admit Card

Admit card is a crucial document for the exam day. It contains your registration details, photograph, exam date/time, and venue.

Please check that your printed photograph on the Admit Card is visible. If the photo is blank or not visible, email nmatsupport@gmac.com to update the photo.

 

NMAT Exam Pattern 2024

The NMAT by GMACTM is comprised of three sections, namely-Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. The exam sections are individually timed and candidates must answer the questions in each section within the allotted time. Questions are delivered one at a time and are randomly selected from a pool of questions. The important topics students have to prepare for the exams are as follows:

NMAT Result 2024

 

The NMAT results will be notified to the candidate within 72 hours of taking the exam through mail from the official website of the NMAT. The candidate has to log in using the personal login details to download the exam scorecard directly on the official website. However, the unofficial Scorecard will be published instantly after taking exams.

The NMAT scorecard will be reported with a scaled NMAT score for each section of the exam and a total result. The NMAT exam is careful to consider all participants’ scores on a common scale to remove any discrepancies associated with the different levels of difficulty of the NMAT exam. The NMAT targets the specific ability level of each test taker, transforming the final NMAT exam result into a common score range of 36-360.

If a candidate receives a percentile score of 95, he/she has performed better than 95% of other candidates taking the exam in the same year. The candidate would be in the top 5% of candidates in this instance.
