The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, one of the premier institutions in India for international business education, was founded in 1963 by the Government of India. Since then, IIFT has become synonymous with quality education in global trade and business management. The IIFT Exam is a national-level entrance test conducted annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of IIFT. It is a computer-based test that checks aptitude in all candidates' areas deemed essential for success in the MBA program.

It is held once a year and covers four major areas: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. The main objective behind the IIFT Exam is to shortlist candidates for admission to the MBA-International Business program offered at IIFT's campuses located in Delhi, Kolkata, and Kakinada.
