Tamil Nadu NEET PG Counselling Process 2024

Introduction 

 

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) in Chennai is in charge of conducting the Tamil Nadu NEET PG 2024 counseling. The DMER Chennai is using the online counseling platform to organize and carry out the TN NEET PG counseling. On the official website, tnmedicalselection.net, a registration link, and an official information pamphlet were made available. The Tamil Nadu NEET PG 2024 counseling dates have been released by the authorities. Registration opened on September 3, 2024, and the application deadline is September 15, 2024 (up to 5:00 PM). Only applicants who passed NEET PG 2024 and currently reside in the state are eligible to take part in the Tamil Nadu NEET PG counseling.

Last year, there were 2296 seats available for MDS, Diploma, and PG Degree programs. MDS has 308 seats available, compared to 1988 places for PG Degree and Diploma. This year, the official website will notify users of the seat matrix.

The application form must be submitted by the deadline to be considered for admission to Post Graduate Degree/Diploma Courses in Tamil Nadu Government Medical Colleges and Government Seats in Self-Financing Medical Colleges. Candidates who meet the qualifying requirements and register online will be listed on a merit list by DME. There will be four phases to the Tamil Nadu NEET counseling process. If any seats remain unfilled following the completion of the mop-up round of Tamil Nadu NEET PG counseling in 2024, a stray vacancy round will be held.

For the 2024-25 academic session, NBE reduced the application fee for NEET PG 2024. The fee has been reduced for all categories by INR 750. Now onwards candidates of the general category will have to pay INR 3,500 while for SC, ST category the fee will be INR 2,500. The application form for NEET PG 2024 involves registration, filling in the application form, uploading documents, and paying the registration fee. Registration can be done on the official website of NBE, nbe.edu.in. Candidates have to submit basic details such as name, email ID, mobile number, etc to register for the exam. NBE conducted the NEET PG 2024 exam on August 11, 2024.

After successful registration, a login ID and password are generated. Candidates have to upload documents and pay a non-refundable registration fee to submit NEET PG 2024 application form. NBE also opens a correction window to modify incorrect details submitted with the application form.

 

Tamil Nadu NEET PG  2024 Edit Window

Today is the last day of the NBE's NEET PG 2024 final modification window. It is recommended that students go to the official NBE website, nbe.edu.in, and update their signatures, photos, or thumb imprints in accordance with the NEET PG picture uploading requirements. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will close the NEET PG 2024 final edit window on June 10, 2024. The NBE has released a list of applicants who failed to correct their images during the pre-final edit window. The final edit window is open until today for students to rectify the images according to image upload guidelines. Students are advised to visit the NBE official website to edit or modify their photographs, signatures, or thumb impressions. Applications that fail to correct their images during the final edit window will be rejected. Candidates must submit the images according to the prescribed guidelines.

Tamil Nadu NEET PG  2024 Seat Allotment

The total government PG medical seats in India is around 34,000 for the academic year 2023-24. The data is based on the information shared by the Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Mansukh Mandavia. While replying to a series of questions related to UG and PG medical seats in India, the minister informed the Lok Sabha there were 70,645 PG medical seats in India including both private and government. The exact number of PG government medical seats in India is 33,416 including College and Physicians & Surgeon (CPS) and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) seats. Candidates who will be appearing in the NEET PG 2024 exam should have an India about total medical seats in India. 

 

The exam is scheduled to be held on July 7, 2024, in computer-based mode. According to state-wise data, Maharashtra has the highest number of PG government medical seats among the states. The total number of government PG medical seats in Maharashtra is 3,576.  With 2,889 seats, Delhi ranks on second number followed by Tamil Nadu (2,765) and Rajasthan (2,255).
