XAT 2025: Number of Test Cities Increased; Check New 34 Cities

Overview of XAT 2025

The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2025 is set to take place on January 5, 2025. More than 250 business schools in India accept applications through the XAT as a gateway. The exam evaluates candidates on a range of abilities, including aptitude, decision-making, logical reasoning, and language ability. 

To speed up the evaluation process, the XAT 2025 examination pattern has been revised. Important changes consist of:

  1. Duration: The total duration of the exam has been reduced to three hours (180 minutes).
  2. Structure: The exam will consist of two parts:
    • Part One: Includes sections on Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, totalling 170 minutes.
    • Part Two: Focuses on General Knowledge and will last for 10 minutes.
  3. General Knowledge Section: The number of questions in this section has been reduced from 25 to 20, with a focus on current affairs (12 questions) and static general knowledge (8 questions).
  4. Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): This component will now be integrated into the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) stages rather than being part of the main examination

 

Registration for XAT 2025 commenced on July 15, 2024. Candidates are required to pay ?2200 for registration and an extra ?200 for each program at XLRI to which they wish to apply. Additionally, on September 28 and 29, 2024, applicants who have already turned in their exam forms will have the chance to change their selections and select from the new test cities. Starting on September 28th, people who have not yet applied will also have the choice of these new locations. 

One of the most significant changes in XAT 2025 is that candidates can now select up to six preferred cities for their examination. This flexibility is intended to provide students with alternatives that work for them and to accommodate a range of geographic locations. The XAT 2025 admissions convenor, Dr Rahul Shukla, stressed that this program is an attempt to better serve candidates by taking into account their needs and preferences.
