The Karnataka PGCET is an important entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka government. As this is a state level examination the students have to prepare well for the exam as students all over the state appear for this exam. Few preparation tips for before, on the exam day and after the exam are provided below:
Before Exam Tips:
- Keep track of the exam related notifications regularly by visiting the official website.
- Understand the pattern and syllabus of the exam before preparations.
- Collect all the study materials needed for preparation and also use the internet help for soft copies of study materials.
- Conduct weekly tests on a regular basis, communicate with teachers regarding the exam.
- Attend mock tests on a regular basis to evaluate your performance.
During exam tips:
- Be at least 15 minutes early than the exam time in the exam center.
- Have your Admit card with you.
- Go through the guidelines mentioned in the question paper carefully before answering.
- Read the question and try to understand well.

How to download Karnataka PGCET Hall ticket 2025
The Karnataka PGCET hall ticket can be downloaded from the KEA official website using the login credentials of the student. The steps to download the hall ticket are as follows:
- Candidates must visit the official website of Karnataka Examination Authority https//kea.kar.nic.in.
- Click on ‘Admissions’ on the menu bar of the Home page where ‘PGCET 2025’ is mentioned.
- Click on ‘PGCET 2025-MBA/MCA Admission Ticket Download LINK’.
- On the admission ticket page fill your application number and first four letters of your name.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button below.
- Admission Ticket/ Hall Ticket will be displayed.
- Download the Hall Ticket and take a hard copy of it.
Note: while downloading the Hall ticket check whether all your personal details, examination details, exam center etc are correct. If there is any error found immediately consult the exam authorities.

Karnataka PGCET Counseling 2025
The counseling for Karnataka PGCET is a very important stage for the admission of Post Graduation courses. The exam results will be released and the students passed the exam with merit list have to go through the following stages of PGCET counseling for MBA admission are as follows:
- Document Verification: the candidates who qualified the exam have to get their documents verified by visiting any helpline centers.
- Display of Seat Matrix: the authorities will release the list of institutes participating and seat allotment for the pg courses.
- Registration to counseling: the candidates with specified cut off are invited to register for the KEA counseling process.
- Counseling day: the registered candidates must appear for the counseling in the centers allotted to them with required documents for the process.
The detailed procedure of Karnataka PGCET are as follows:
- Registration of Candidate: the candidate who is assigned rank in PGCET-2025 has to report to nearest helpline centers for registration and document verification. The PGCET number has to be registered in the computer system. The students will be briefed about the next steps in these helpline centers.
- Document verification: the getting registered has to get their original documents verified for the eligibility of option entry for choice of seat allotment. The original documents required are:
- Class 10 & 12 marks sheet
- Income certificate of the family
- Category certificate(if any)
- Karnataka PGCET Admit card
- PGCET MBA Score card
The eligible candidate will be given a high security ‘Secret Key’, the candidate has to use the secret key register and create a password of choice for login at the online option Entry Portal.
Interaction Session: after generating a secret key in the waiting hall the student will be briefed with steps involved in optionentry, seat allotment procedure and Payment process.
- Option Entry by candidates: the candidates eligible can choose their college preferences by following these steps:
- Visit official Karnataka PGCET website
- Enter login credentials namely Hall ticket number and click submit
- Enter the details such as Application number of the application form, secret Key, New password, Confirm new password, E mail Id, Select secret hint question, type hint answer
- Then click on Log in.
- Verify the details entered.
- Click on ‘Option Worksheet’.
The option worksheet will have details such as course group, course type, college, option number, course description, college description. The candidate has to download and print this worksheet.
- Practice Option entry: the candidates has to practice how to enter the option as per priority the priority has to be numbered from 1-999 as per preference.
- How to choose college wise and course wise list?
- Go to the home page click on ‘Candidates Option Entry’.
- Enter the details
- The list of colleges and courses will be displayed.
- Give option as per the priority
- To modify Order of Options
- Click on ‘modify selected option’ window
- Change the preference using new number
- Click on the tab ‘update’.
- Click on selected view option to view the changes
To delete options
- Go to ‘modify selected option’.
- Enter the numeric ‘0’ in the option field
- More than one option can be deleted at a time.
- Click on the tab ‘update’.
- Seat allotment Process: after the end of option entry the computer will start allotting the seats in two rounds as follows:
- First round: the allotment for general merit candidates will be done in general merit quota, physically disabled/ ex-defense will be allotted as per their rankings and the candidates with reserved category will be allotted first and then the remaining seats are allotted for others as per their ranking and option.
- Second round: this is the final round where many iterations take place, the computer will stop the allotment only if the last seat is allotted.
