All About JEE Main 2025 Exam
JEE Main is considered one of the most prestigious and competitive entrance tests in engineering education in India. Conducted by the National Testing Agency, this examination offers an entry ticket to students who are looking for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at prestigious institutions in the country such as NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. Besides, scores obtained in JEE Main are further used for admission to various private engineering colleges throughout the country. JEE Main for the 2025 academic session is scheduled to be held in two sessions: January 2025 for the first session and April 2025 for the second session. NTA will declare an official notification regarding the date and application process in November 2024. Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2025 are mentioned below:
Educational Qualification
- Class 12 or Equivalent: The candidates have to pass or appear for the Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board. They also have to have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 10+2 curriculum.
- Minimum Marks While the general requirement is at least 50% aggregate marks in Class 12, SC/ST/OBC candidates require only 45%. However, it may vary as per the specific requirements and needs of the participating institutions.
Age Limit
No Upper Age Limit: Though there is no upper age limit to appear for JEE Main, the candidate has to fulfill the age criteria of the respective institutions to which he/she seeks admission
Number of Attempts
A candidate can attempt JEE Main only consecutively for three years.
Year of Appearance
Qualifying Year: The candidates should have passed Class 12 in the year of examination or the previous year.
Nationality
Indian Citizens and Foreign Nationals: Admission is open for both Indian citizens and foreign nationals. For foreign candidates, conditions might be applicable.
JEE Main 2025 Syllabus and Exam Pattern
Syllabus
- Physics: It shall include topics in the Class 11 and 12 classes, including Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electrodynamics, Optics, and Modern Physics.
- Chemistry: Includes Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry from Class 11 and 12.
- Mathematics: This includes Algebra, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry from both classes.
Exam Pattern
- Paper 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT) with 75 objective-type questions (25 each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). Duration: 3 hours.

- Printing of Confirmation Page: After filling up the application and paying its fee must print the confirmation page for further use.
How to Fill JEE Main 2025 Application Form
The following is the step-by-step procedure to fill out the JEE Main application form
- Step 1: Go to the JEE Main official website
- Step 2: Click on JEE Main 2025 Registration and afterward select the mode of registration (Registration using Aadhar or PAN Number)
- Step 3: Fill in the required details along with a submit button.
- Step 4: After successful registration, the JEE Main Application form, 2025 will open.
- Step 5: Upload the scanned image of passport size photo and signature
