NEET PG COUNSELLING PROCESS 2024
National Eligibility Entrance Test for Post-Graduation (NEET PG) is a national-level examination conducted by the National Board of Education(NBE). Upon qualifying for this exam, students can secure admission in various MD(Doctor of Medicine), MS(Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma Courses in Medical Institutions across India. The Medical Counselling Committee(MCC) will soon declare the NEET PG Counselling schedule on its official website. The process is likely to start in the second week of September. The Counselling will be further conducted in four rounds, followed by a mop-up and stray round.
NEET PG 2024 COUNSELLING OVERVIEW:
The NEET PG results were initially declared on August 23, 2024. The scorecard for the same was released August 30, 2024, on the official website of National Board of Education(NBE). NBE will be releasing the counselling dates soon, on its website. In the meantime, the table below provides a detailed overview that the candidates must know:

NEET PG COUNSELLING 2024 REGISTRATION PROCESS:
There are several steps involved in the NEET PG Counselling process. The very first of it is registering yourself for the counselling. The steps involved in registration are as follows:
- Online Registration: Candidates have to initially register online on the official MCC website. New registrations will be accepted before each round of counselling but keep in mind that candidates who have registered once, do not need to register again.
- Creating Account: Clicking on the PG Medical Counselling page will lead us to a follow-up page, click on the ‘Online Registration for Round 1’ tab, on the page. Enter the details that are asked for, such as, name, email ID, mobile Number, date of birth, NEET PG Roll Number, etc. Thoroughly review the information before submitting the registration form.
- Fill in the Application form: After submitting the registration form, candidates will receive their credentials on their registered account. Candidates must fill the NEET PG Application form with precision.
- Upload Documents: Further progressing in the process, candidates will need to upload scanned copies of several documents. These include:
- NEET PG 2024 Admit Card
- Marksheets from MBBS or BDS 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Professional Examinations.
- MBBS/BDS Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate.
- NEET PG Result.
- Internship Completion Certificate.
- Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC).
- Birth Certificate).
- Photo ID Proof.
- Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) if applicable.
- EWS Certificate (if applicable).
- Photographs: Eight recent passport-size photographs.
- College Leaving Certificate.
- Migration Certificate.
- Fitness Certificate.
- Education Gap Certificate (if applicable).
- Class 10 and Class 12 Marksheets/Certificates.
- Payment of Registration fee: Candidates are now required to fill a non-refundable registration fee. The payment methods available for fees include various methods such as debit/credit card, net banking, or other available payment options.
- Print Confirmation: After successful submission, candidates will receive a confirmation of registration. Download and print this confirmation for future records.
- Documents verification: After online registration, candidates will need to attend the document verification process at designated centres. The details on locations and schedules will be provided on the official website. Candidates will have to bring all original documents and photocopies to the verification centre.

Candidates need to provide a set of documents in order to complete their registration and verification process. Here is the list of the required documents:

NEET PG 2024 COUNSELLING CHOICE FILLING:
The Choice filling plays a crucial role in admission to the desired Institution. The Choice Filling is conducted where candidates have to choose their preferred colleges/institutions and courses, based on their rank and seat intake capacity. There is no limit to the number of choices a candidate may select, but candidates are advised to lock their seats,before the deadline, after adding their preferred course and colleges. The Choice Filling Process involves several rounds, that includes:
- First Round: The first round of counselling process is conducted, where candidates are required to choose their preferred college and courses, based on NEET ranks and seat availability.
- Second Round: After the first round seat allotment, a second round counselling is conducted. Candidates who did not get a seat in the first round or wish to change their choice can participate.
- Mop-up Round Choice Filling: If there are seats still vacant after round 2 of choice filling, a mop-up round is conducted. It’s usually conducted for the remaining candidates who have not secured a seat.
- Stray Vacancy Round: After the Mop-up round, if any seats remain, they are declared as vacancies. Colleges can fill those seats by conducting their own counselling process.
NEET PG COUNSELLING 2024 SEAT ALLOTMENT:
After the successful completion of all counselling rounds, candidates are allotted colleges, based on factors such as, their choice of filling and seat availability. Candidates can download their allotment letter, issued by the NMC, on their official website.
NEET PG COUNSELLING: Reporting at the Institute:
After receiving the provisional allotment letter, candidates must report to the allotted if they are satisfied with their allotted Institute. Candidates must approach the Institution within the specified time frame to complete the admission procedure and secure their seat, before the due date. Candidates must submit their original documents at their respective colleges for physical verification.
